Qualification is the path to success

In May 2004, Deutsche Leasing AG – Germany's number one independent equipment leasing company – was looking for a competent external partner for project management qualification. The requirement: Efficient implementation of projects important to the company’s business, with participation from multiple specialized departments.
Found.
Why was P-SPE trusted with this complex task? Because our concept, which is based on extensive practical experience, relies on a combination of various, intertwined methods: Consulting, moderation, training, and coaching – in personnel development as well as in IT and in project portfolio management.
At the start.
Participants in an internal program for management trainees took on a specific project – P-SPE was integrated and got down to work:
- Extensive discussion of requirements with the personnel development department and those responsible for project portfolio management
- Customized training in which the participants worked directly on their projects and with case studies
The next step.
Accelerated qualification of project managers and project employees, especially in the IT area – with particular regard for the corporate decision to depict the software development process in the future with the on-site and off-shore model.
- The consequences: Significant changes were required with regard to methodical, personal, and social competence.
- The result: Design of a special development program for IT employees, supplemented with project-oriented method training for specific target groups.

On this basis, P-SPE worked closely with internal personnel development staff to initiate advanced projects – including the following topics:

- Management in projects
- Concept design for an internal, systematic project-management career track.
